I am very proud to be the director of Unit One Entertainments since 2001.
Jonny started Dj’ing in 1990, so it would be easier for me to tell you the places I haven’t worked in, rather than tell you the places I have. I have travelled the length & breadth of the country entertaining audiences & this has always come from word of mouth.
One of the most commonly asked questions I get asked from prospective clients is
What do you do?
Please don’t get the impression that I stand there all night playing one song after another, far from it. If you would like this type of Dj, then I am not what you are looking for.
I do listen to my clients requirements & take great pride in what I do & your input is very important & this can only contribute to making the evening an even greater success.
Once I have established what input, you as a client wants from your event & you ask me to do what I do best, then this is where it gets interesting.
My cabaret show consists of costume changes during the evening, mainly after formalities & food. I can work solo or with my team of dancers. The choice is yours.

Jonathan Hindley BCAv
52-year-old Jonathan Hindley is a local DJ and Entertainment Director going by the stage name of Jonny Spangles. With the original lockdown Jonathan realised that there would be a very real need for social interaction, mental stimulus and help for the needy. So, he put all his experience and talent into creating community fundraising activities which would fulfil all those needs and support key workers.
He hosted speed quizzes each week raising money for the most vulnerable in the community. He also held a socially-distanced open-air disco, live streamed across the world in horrendous weather conditions for three hours – raising over £2500. Jonathan rode a DJ Disco mobile trike for seven hours a day, on six separate occasions to raise money for WW2 Veterans, NHS Key Workers, Dementia and Mental Health. In total he covered over 100 miles around the local area. His combined endeavours since early April have benefited the local community to the tune of £53,000, benefitting over 125 charities & community-based groups
Despite suffering a stroke when he was 42, a life-threatening home accident and an operation in early 2020 his spirits were not dampened. Jonathan has, over his 30-year career, raised over £100,000 and in 2019 raised £7000 for two cancer charities.

Kate Green, MP for Stretford and Urmston, said:
“Jonny Spangles’ performances give great pleasure to Trafford residents and friends, and I congratulate him on this award.”
Jon said:
“Completely and utterly speechless. If I didn’t have the love & support from my family, friends and the amazing people of Urmston, then receiving an award like this would never be possible. I am truly humbled and feel totally overwhelmed with everything in these difficult times for our country. Making people smile in these difficult times is why we do what we do and if we can support the less than fortunate people in our community, we have made a difference.”
