Paula Lane

Paula Lane was born 17 April 1986 is a British actress, perhaps best known for her work as Kylie Platt in Coronation Street. In 2010 Lane was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2011 National Television Awards. She has also gained other nominations for her portrayal of Kylie. Lane has appeared in several programmes, including Heartbeat, Casualty, Still Game and EastEnders.

Paula Lane was born 17 April 1986 is a British actress, perhaps best known for her work as Kylie Platt in Coronation Street. Lane has appeared in several programmes, including Heartbeat, Casualty, Still Game and EastEnders.

Lane is originally from the village of Hebden Bridge. At the age of 19 she was accepted to train at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama in London, graduating in 2008 with a 1st class honours degree in acting. On finishing drama school, Lane was cast immediately in the ITV 1960s-based drama, Heartbeat where she made her television debut.

Lane made her professional début in Heartbeat in 2009. Since then she has appeared in Going Postal by Terry Pratchett for Sky, The Royal and Doctors. Lane also features in the short film War Wounds alongside Stephen Manga. Lane joined Coronation Street in 2010, portraying Kylie Platt, half-sister of established character Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly).
