Character reference
Cilla is the mother from hell to son Chesney and daughter Fiz and will put her needs before anybody else. As her relationship with Les got serious – he did after all offer her somewhere to live and easy money - Cilla and Chesney became a permanent fixture at No5. She had no problem heading to the Costa del Sol for a couple of months leaving poor Chesney with Roy and Hayley Cropper.
Love life
Cilla would never describe Les as the love of her life and she has cheated on him with her ex Ronnie. When Les discovered her duplicity, Cilla fled leaving Chesney with ‘Uncle Les’. She soon returned with her tail between her legs and lied that her aunty had died and left her a fortune. Les only found out she was lying when Cilla had got her feet back under the table of No5.
The pair got married in what was easily the tackiest wedding the Street had seen, with Status Quo making a guest appearance. But married life failed to calm Cilla and she was soon up to her usual tricks. In 2006 she discovered she had skin cancer. Les assumed Cilla was cheating on her when she disappeared for secret appointments so when her best friend Yana jumped on him, he readily hopped into bed with her.
When Cilla discovered Les’ betrayal, she told him she was dying from cancer despite being given the all clear. Feeling guilty, Les started a collection as Cilla claimed to be desperate to swim with dolphins before she died. Residents coughed up only for Cilla to take the money and have a holiday of a lifetime. When she returned her family found it hard to forgive her, but she wormed her way back into everyone’s good books and moved back in with Les.
In 2007, when Wong's chippy shut down, Cilla found herself a job as a cleaner in a care home. She turned the head of randy pensioner Frank and ended up working for him in his home as his carer.
Memorable moment
Falling through the ceiling when dog Schmeichel jumped into the bath she and Les were sharing.
