First arrived 
3rd February, 1987, when she was born in Weatherfield General. Sarah-Louise was born prematurely and had to be put into an incubator after mum Gail went into labour when Sarah’s dad Brian Tilsley hit Ian Latimer, whom everyone believed was Sarah’s real father. A blood test later confirmed Brian was Sarah’s dad.

Character reference 
Sarah-Louise became a gymslip mum when she found out she was pregnant at the age of 13. She brought up daughter Bethany as a single mum even though she was just a teenager herself. Sarah’s desire for love and affection has led her into some disastrous situations with unsuitable boys. Since 2000, Sarah-Louise has been called Sarah.

Love life 
When Sarah became pregnant with Bethany, the baby’s father Neil Fearns wanted nothing to do with either of them. Sarah felt trapped when Bethany was born and the only way she thought she could make friends was via the internet. She started chatting to a boy called Gary who she arranged to meet offline. However, Gary turned out to be in his thirties and kept Sarah at his house against her will. Fortunately, Sarah was rescued in the nick of time and the police were called.

Sarah then started dating Todd Grimshaw but had her head turned by bad-boy Aidan Critchley. Aidan took Sarah joy-riding in Ken Barlow’s car which he crashed and he left her for dead. In hospital, Sarah realised that Todd still loved her and they got back together again. In 2003, Sarah and Todd moved into the flat above the bookies and lived happily as a family with little Bethany.

However, events took a sinister turn after Bethany’s dad Neil Fearns died in a car crash. Neil’s mum Brenda started calling at the flat to see Sarah and Bethany and become obsessed with them both. She kidnapped Bethany and threatened to jump off a church roof until Emily Bishop talked Brenda down.

At the age of 16 Sarah became pregnant again, this time with Todd’s baby and when he asked her to marry him, she agreed. But when she was seven months pregnant, Todd told Sarah he was gay after he’d tried to kiss her brother Nick Tilsley. Sarah moved back to live with her mum and told Todd she wanted nothing to do with him. When she gave birth to their baby they named him Billy but tragically he only survived for one day.

Sarah then went on to have a one-night stand with Todd’s brother Jason Grimshaw as a way of getting back at Todd. She’s since had a relationship with Scooter who delivered rubbish skips but she dumped him to go out with Jason, who had been dating Violet Wilson. Sarah and Jason were due to be married in 2006 but Jason had cold feet and did a runner through the toilet window at the church. They’re currently planning on getting married again – will Jason go through with it this time?
