Love life
Chesney can’t even find love from his own mother let alone anyone else. His biggest love is his dog, Great Dane Schmeichel, who was given to him Maya Sharma. He’s recently admitted to feelings for neighbour Sophie Webster, but is yet to make a move.

Dicing with death
Could easily have been robbed, beaten up or taken away by a stranger given that he’s so often abandoned. Schmeichel, on the other hand, nearly met his maker when Claire Peacock ran over him in a public bus.

Memorable scene
Chesney tugged at heart strings when he asked Les to adopt him following Cilla’s confession that she couldn’t remember who his real dad is.
