First
arrived
16 October,
2002, when Chas
turned up in a blaze
of glory as a
strippergram dressed
as a nun at cousin
Marlon’s stag night.
Character
reference
Despite her
mouthy comments and
slutty outfits, Chas
is far brighter than
most of the Dingles.
She might act tough
but she’s got a good
heart. She is
divorced and son
Aaron lives with her
ex-husband Gordon
Livesey.
Love life
When Chas
met Carl King it was
lust at first sight
but their
relationship
developed into
something much
deeper. However,
when Carl had a
fling with Chloe
Atkinson, it was the
end of the line for
Chas and Carl.
She then got
together with
policeman Denzil
Calburn but in her
heart she still
loved Carl.
Heartbroken and
angry after she
found out that Chloe
had deliberately
split up her and
Carl, Chas left
Emmerdale to join
the army. While she
was away, Carl
realised he loved
her and wanted her
back. He ran after
her as she was
driving off to a
wedding reception
and declared his
love for her in
front of her fellow
officers. Chas was
furious, not least
when Carl fell over
while carrying her
and broke her leg.
Carl proposed to
Chas but she
procrastinated and
he promised to do a
wing walk in order
to prove his
devotion. Stunned by
the lengths he would
go to in order to
win her heart, Chas
agreed to marry him.
However, Chas found
out that Carl had
slept with her
cousin Del while
she’d been in the
army. Del told her
not to throw the
relationship away
and Chas and Carl
moved into Home
Farm.
It was when the show
home collapsed that
Chas moved out, she
couldn't bear that
the village thought
she was condoning
the negligence of
Carl's family. She
didn’t stay away
long though and soon
moved back in with
Carl. It was then
that she met her
nemesis Rosemary
King, the two women
hated each other and
Rosemary went all
out to make life
hard for Chas.
The King family
finally blackmailed
Chas to cancel her
wedding plans to
Carl. Carl was
furious when he
found out, but after
his father’s death –
and his confession
to his brothers that
he was the murderer
– Carl distanced
himself from Chas as
he didn’t want her
to find out the
truth. After a huge
argument, where he
said some awful
things to her, the
two split for good.
Memorable
scene
When she
woke up next to a
dead body after she
bedded gangster
Colin McFarlane and
then received a
pay-off from his
wife.
What next?
Will Chas
be lead even further
astray by bad
influence Lexi
Nicholls? Will Chas
and Carl get back
together again?
