Set in 2000 acres of park land Smithills Hall is one of Lancashire’s oldest Manor houses dating back to the 14th Century. Just a couple of miles away from the centre of Bolton, Smithills hall stands in beautifully restored formal gardens and is set against a backdrop of majestic moors. Surrounded by both lawns and woodland, the attractive and welcoming interiors and exteriors of the hall make the perfect venue for your wedding day. Smithills hall has two licensed rooms; the Great Hall is an impressive Medieval hall with oak timbers at the gable ends. With seating available for sixty people this is a unique and atmospheric setting for your wedding ceremony. The Withdrawing room is a fine example of the Tudor period’s optimism and expansion, reflected in the great bay window said to be one of the oldest in England. With a seating capacity of 20 people, the withdrawing room is perfect for a smaller more intimate ceremony.
