Bruce Jones - aka Les Battersby

Les Battersby is a comic character - a Homer Simpson type whose hobby is lazing around and drinking, but who loves his family. His first marriage was to gobby Janice who has now left the Street. The couple brought up Les's daughter Leanne and Janice's daughter Toyah. His current wife is Cilla, who is a larger-than life character (literally) and just as funny as Les. Pretentiously they joined their names to become the Battersby-Browns. Cilla's son Chesney and lodger Kirk complete the 'family'. Les has a prison record from when he was framed by Janice's lover, a policeman. His favourite music is by Status Quo and through a bizarre chain of circumstances (what else!) the Quo - themselves Corrie fans - played at his wedding. He was last heard of being a 'roadie' for a rock band.

Bruce Jones is also a Status Quo fan and has been seen at their concerts.
