Roxanne Pallett - Named Celebrity & Soap Star - Biography
Roxanne was born on the 26th December 1982 in Carlisle, Cumbria, and is best known for playing Jo Styles in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale.

After completing a degree in media and cultural studies at Liverpool John Moores University, she was a founder member of the girl band Urban Angel. After being signed to a music producer, Roxanne decided to pursue an acting career. In 2005, she landed her first acting role as Jo Stiles in ITV's Emmerdale. In January 2006, she appeared in the reality singing competition Soapstar Superstar. Fronting 2006's Maxim magazine and the face of Loaded magazine (July 2008), Roxanne also counts modelling for fashion publications such as Closer, Reveal, Mizz, Hello and OK amongst her work.

She was been nominated for awards as best actress at the British Soap Awards 2008 and TV Quick Awards 2008 and in August 2008, she confirmed she would be the public face of a campaign by the Women's Refuge that urges women to look out for early signs a partner may turn violent.

Roxanne then took part in the fourth series of Dancing On Ice, which began on 11 January 2009. Her participation was confirmed on 5 January 2009, on This Morning. Roxanne's professional partner was Daniel Whiston, who skated the previous series with another former Emmerdale actress, Linda Lusardi. Roxanne and Daniel sadly were voted off Dancing on Ice on 1 March after a skate off against TV presenter Zoe Salmon and partner Matt Evers. She went on to join Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean with the Dancing On Ice UK Tour.

She will be playing Hero in Much Ado About Nothing and Cobweb in A Midsummer Night's Dream with the British Shakespeare Company in their 2009 tour of the UK, Dublin, Norway and Prague.
