of Soul…
The New Disciples are
both musically and visually one of the UK's top Soul/Funk bands with
the ability to cover many different styles from 70's through to present
day smash hits. Keeping their tradition firmly based on "Classic
Soul with Attitude" they provide the highest level of professional
entertainment whatever the occasion.
All time classics from the likes of Sam and Dave, The
Commitments, James Brown, Madness, Michael Jackson, The Blues Brothers,
Kool and The Gang, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Van Morrison and Tina
Turner ensure their performances are always a success.
Highly Experienced
The
band consists of highly trained (London, Oxford, Birmingham, Paris)
professional musicians that have been hand picked from around The Midlands.
They feature male and female vocals of the highest calibre
with vast experience in entertaining audiences of all sizes. Between
them they have appeared on top rate television shows and fronted many
award winning outfits both nationally and internationally.
Collectively, the bands musical heritage is vast having
travelled across Europe performing many styles such as Classical (CBSO,
Naxos), Jazz (Guy Barker, Randy Johnston (USA)), Big Band (MYJO, Fat
Chops) and Soul (Giants of Soul, Dr Brian) to name but a few.
The New Disciples have been performing
to full houses across the UK and Ireland having recently returned from
The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival for the 8th consecutive year.
Other notable gigs have included regular appearances
at Jools Holland's Jam House, Richard Branson's “V4” and
being voted top band of "The Soul Weekend" at Butlins for
two years in a row (2001 & 2002).
The New Disciples have extensive experience
performing in many different kinds of venue from bars to stately homes
to 3000 capacity venues such as the International Convention Centre
(ICC), Birmingham. This has involved many different types of event from
corporate functions and weddings to private parties and festivals.
The Performance
The New Disciples
offer a full 90-minute show usually split into 2 x 45 minute sets (negotiable)
creating a high-energy party atmosphere.
The band are fully self-contained complete with 3000
Watt PA System and 4K "sound to light controlled" lighting
rig. Instrument radio mics are also included for that essential audience
interaction/participation.
