Kym first came to the public's attention in 2001 after appearing on ITV's talent show Popstars where she made the final line for the band Hearsay. Kym left the band in 2002 and went solo where she had 2 top 10 singles and a top 10 album.

Kym joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2006 as feisty barmaid Michelle Connor and has now gone onto become a well loved cast member.
