Cole
Page - Rat-Pack Tribute
- Biography
Cole Page is a performer you’ll never forget
seeing.
The instantly recognisable voice allied to a
performing style full of easy charm and swagger,
The UK’s ‘King of Swing’, gives each and every
audience a unique experience, whether it’s an
intimate private function or thousands-strong
theatre crowd.
Born in Manchester England, Cole has built up a
reputation for excellence, entertaining the
likes of Bill Clinton and Sir Alex Ferguson, and
has recently taken his show to Europe, Asia and
the US.
Equally comfortable as centre of attention or
part of the accompanying scenery, Cole – solo
singer or backed by his big band – has performed
to (and with) a host of celebrities, including
Ant n Dec, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Joss
Stone, The Stereophonics, Boyzone, Spandau
Ballet, Go West, Boney M, Ruby Wax, Carol
Vorderman, Peter Kay, football stars Pele, Bryan
Robson, David Beckham, Lee Sharpe, Ryan Giggs
and Wayne Rooney, rugby union’s Jonny Wilkinson,
World famous Boxers, Evander Hollyfield, Joe
Calzaghe and Mike Tyson and the casts of TV
soaps Coronation Street and Hollyoaks. Sir Alex
Ferguson and his world famous Manchester United
players have all personally asked him to appear
at their private parties. Although no-one’s safe
from Cole’s roaming microphone during the show…
just ask ‘Fergie’, whose own rendition of Moon
River wowed the guests at a recent celebrity
charity dinner.

But
it’s not just celebrities that Cole Page can
claim as fans of his smooth swing voice.
Starting in 2004, his, ‘A Swinging Affair’,
theatre show, has become an annual performance,
bringing in hundreds to the famous Opera House
in Manchester. Accompanied by a 17-piece swing
orchestra, he entertains a packed audience with
many of the classic songs that form his
repertoire. The evening has become a landmark
social and musical event in Manchester for those
who watch Cole in and around the city throughout
the year.
Other notable theatre performances include The
Palace Hotel, in, “A Night Of A Thousand Stars”
and The Bridgewater Hall and Carnegie Hall,
accompanied by The Band Of Her Majesty’s Royal
Marines Scotland, a superb 42 piece orchestra
Outside the UK, Cole has been invited to perform
across Europe, and has appeared regularly in
Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Holland, France,
Vienna and also in Florence, Rome and Portofino
in Italy. In January 2009, Cole performed in
Borneo at the ICI annual conference. Events in
the US include the Diageo annual conference in
Miami, Florida and at the world famous Rainbow
Room in The Rockefeller Centre, New York.
Aside from concert and private appearances, Cole
has also sung jingles for the Sony award-winning
Key 103 breakfast show, Toolan in the Morning
and was also invited to do a 1 Hour Christmas
Special on BBC Manchester which received rave
reviews, as did spots on Granada TV’s “The
Afternoon Show” and ITV’s “That’s
Entertainment”. Cole also supported Katie Melua
on the, “BBC Proms In The Park”, performing live
to a 15,000 strong crowd with his 17 piece big
band. The show was beamed live around the UK and
was aired to over 1 million people.
Cole Page’s appeal is enduring, and becomes
clear from the very first note you hear him
sing. A natural entertainer with an individual,
effortless style that ensures peerless
performances every time, it’s something you’ll
want to return to again and again.
Hall Of Fame
Closer to home, Cole has performed at many
celebrity events, including that of the
Manchester United Manager, Sir Alex Ferguson’s
private Christmas Party, as well as the
Manchester United players Christmas party.
To add to the afore mentioned, Cole has
performed for many famous people, including,
Kylie Minogue, Pele, Bryan Robson, Alan Shearer,
Johnny Wilkinson, Glenn Mcrory and Brian Capron,
which earned him mentions in the UK’s Ok & Hello
Magazines.
The most notable performance however has got to
be when he performed for President Bill Clinton.
“You were fantastic”, was the Presidents
verdict, a comment that has been emulated by
many who have witnessed this entertainer’s slick
performance.
Theatre
In May 2004, Cole was invited to appear in a
concert at The Bridgewater Hall with the
wonderful Band of her Majesty’s Royal Marines
Scotland, a superb 42 piece big band. The
evening was such a success that a return to The
Bridgewater Hall with the same Orchestra was
scheduled for 22 April 2005.
In July 2004 Cole appeared at The Opera House,
Manchester, in his own show, “A Swinging
Affair”, which was a one night only appearance,
where Cole, accompanied by a 17 piece Swing
Orchestra, entertained a packed audience with
many of the Swing & Big Band classics that we
know and love. The response was fantastic and
another evening in the same venue was booked for
6th March 2005.
Television & Radio
In December 2004 Cole had appearances on Granada
TV’s “The Afternoon Show” and ITV’s “That’s
Entertainment”, and was also invited to do a 1
Hour Christmas Special on radio station BBC GMR
which received rave revues from the listening
public.
Original Music
In December 2004, Cole was commissioned to write
some of the music for a film, “In For A Penny” a
project that has seen him return to writing and
recording.
America
In February 2005, Cole made his first Trans
Atlantic crossing to Miami for a performance at
the annual conference of Diagio, where he again
delivered a perfect performance to enhance his
already growing reputation.
Up
Date
To bring things up to date, having just
completed his 2nd appearance at The Bridgewater
Hall on 22 April, with the 42 piece Royal Marine
Band and with his return to The Opera House
Manchester on 6th March where 1200 people
purchased tickets to see Cole and the wonderful
21 piece orchestra, it’s clear that Cole Page
has made the transition from performing at swish
dinner dances in the UK and Europe to the
theatre stage and confirmed his status as one of
the countries best crooners.
Acknowledgements
A quote in the Manchester Evening News recently
stated that, “Even though the demands of a
theatre stage are completely different to that
of the work he has done over the past couple of
years, it’s amazing how Cole Page still managed
to communicate with the packed audience and
deliver a wonderful performance”.
Charity
Cole Page is proud to be a Patron of the Five
Stars Scanner Appeal who’s aim is to raise £1
million for a new MRI scanner for the Royal
Manchester Children’s Hospital. The charity

mentioned earlier, and has pictures featured in
