Stipe are the UK’s leading REM tribute band. With REM still having huge success in the UK with such classics as Man on the Moon & more recently Bad Day Stipe are fast becoming a tribute band well worth hearing. With looks of the original line up which includes the ever eccentric Michael Stipe this band can really replicate the sounds of the American giants. With over 5 years of experience as a band they are a real tight unit who just love playing together so when on stage they really become REM and give the crowd a fantastic set.
August 27 2008 : Stipe watches Stipe !
The BBC asked them to come and play for Michael Stipe on The One Show on August 26th.
It was a strange, nerve-wracking day for the band, but Michael appeared to enjoy their performance over the end credits, and said hello afterwards, commenting “That sounded great, awesome”. He appeared to be impressed by Rick’s ability to sing the words, and was even seen saying the word “wow”, during the verse.
Our very own ‘Local Celebrity’, who started the original Stipe in 1996.

A big fan of lollipops, and sherbet fountains.
Pete Nicholls: Keyboards & Acoustic Guitar
Can press ‘start’ better than anyone we know.
